I’m sure the experience was confusing and fearful for Muneca, after all, losing your home is a tragic experience for any dog, but to have this tragedy strike at an advanced age, and for a pup who has lost her senses of vision and hearing is unfathomable. At the ned of her life, when all she wanted was to snuggle with those she knew and loved, she was starting over in a scary new place filled with harsh smells, cold hard floors, and strange dogs and people.
Photographer John Hwang said, “all she wanted was to be held the whole time.” All she wanted was someone to love and comfort her.
While happy endings are unrealistic for many shelter dogs, especially senior dogs, Muneca’s story has a happy ending. After Hwang published her photos on social media, The Frosted Faces Foundation stepped forward to foster the dog until a forever home could be found.
